I am 56 years old and was diagnosed with liver cancer towards the end of 2023. The doctors tried to go in and remove it in January but unfortunately, they were unable to due to the cancer being wrapped around the main vein that runs along the back of the liver. I am currently undergoing chemo treatments in hopes that the cancer will shrink enough to be removed in a second surgery. The doctors have know idea if it will work or not but we are trying to stay positive. Before this diagnosis, I was witty, out going and active. Ever since the first surgery, I am struggling to remain active as I am very tired all the time. Unfortunately, all of this has taken a mental and financial toll on our family as I am unable to work for the forseeable future. Naturally, the monthly bills and basic needs have added to the strain and stress on our family. We were definitely not ready for this mentally, physically or financially. Many people have asked how they can help our family during this time. While we are normally not the type to ask for help, we have compiled this registry list of things that would greatly benefit us on this journey.
