Registry FAQ

Who can sign up for the registry? Plus

Anyone impacted by a cancer experience is welcome to create a registry. That may be the patient themselves or a family member, friend, caregiver and/or care provider.

I don’t have cancer, can I still sign up? Plus

Right now WeGotThis.org is specifically geared toward supporting those facing cancer, though we recognize that all chronic and terminal illnesses deserve the same level of support and community. Because WGT offers specific product recommendations and a resource directory designed with the cancer community in mind (because cancer is what we personally know), that is our current focus. If you have a unique circumstance please reach out to us at info@wegotthis.org

Is there a cost to signing up for a registry? Plus

Nope! The WeGotThis.org gift registry is 100% free.

Can caregivers sign up on behalf of a patient? Plus

Absolutely!

How does WGT ensure privacy for registry users? Plus

When you create your free registry account, you can choose to make your registry private. If set to private, only those with your shared link will have access and your registry won’t be searchable.

What kinds of items can I add to my registry? Plus

You can add any product or service to your registry from virtually any website. What you register for is entirely up to you. Some thrivers request things like mastectomy pillows and other thrivers request concert tickets - however you choose to thrive is valid.

Can I add services in addition to products to my registry? Plus

Yes, you can add services from almost any website to your registry in addition to physical products.

Can I collect donations on my registry in lieu of physical gifts? Plus

Yes, you can activate the “donation” feature on your registry to collect monetary donations in lieu of or in addition to physical items or services. Monetary donations collected through your registry go directly to you through Stripe, a secure third party financial services platform that handles the transactions. You do not need to register for physical items in order to set up your Stripe account to accept monetary donations on your registry.

How can someone support my registry without spending money? Plus

Sharing a loved one’s registry on social media is a great way to help support a cancer patient in a non-monetary way.

What happens if my needs change during treatment? Plus

If at any time your needs change, you can easily log in to your account and remove and/or add new items and/or services as needed.

Can WeGotThis.org help share my registry to a bigger audience for more visibility? Plus

We would be happy to feature your registry on our social media and/or our monthly newsletter. If you are interested in being features, please fill out this form HERE.

Can I delete my registry or account at any time? Plus

Yes, you can delete your registry account by logging into your account, click on your registry, go to the bottom left hand side (under Quicklinks menu) and select “Delete Registry”. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

I am having issues with my registry (adding products, logging in, updating my profile, etc), where can I get technical support? Plus

Please fill out our technical support form HERE.

What if I delete my registry but still need to access my donation funds? Plus

Deleting your registry will not affect your Stripe account. Since Stripe is a third-party financial institution, closing your registry does not impact your Stripe account, and similarly, closing your Stripe account will not affect the status of your WeGotThis registry.
